About me:

My design background includes stained glass, pastels, silversmithing, Interior Design, and photography.  I started oil painting when I was 16 after seeing the late Bill Alexander on PBS.  My parents bought me an easel, canvases and paints and for the next few years until college I could be found mostly in the basement of our Cambridge, MA apartment building painting.  After college, where I studied marketing and photography, I took many classes at RISD (The Rhode Island School of Design), The Art Institute of Boston and The deCordova Museum School in Lincoln, MA.  I still love going to art workshops and often travel around the country to learn about various painting techniques.  Of course I always have my camera with me!

While I do paint from life in plein air, I love photographing an area and painting the images I've captured.  I find the excitement of discovering new places really fuels my creative spirit.  Over the past few years, while living in FL, my husband and I  have traveled to Italy, France, Spain, Greece, Holland and the U.K.  I've produced many paintings from the photos I've taken and I'm always working on new ones!
